Seasonal Beauty Tips

Here are a few money saving beauty tips!

Baking soda can be safely used alone and to help enhance products you already have.

  • Feeling like your hair is dull and needs to be revived? Michelangelo's staff recommends only once a month, add a teaspoon of baking soda to your daily shampoo to remove buildup and restore shine without fading color! Or if you use very tacky products you can add it to a clarifying shampoo like J Beverly Hills Clarifier Shampoo or ColorProof Clear It Up Shampoo.
  • Once a month clean your hair brushes and combs by soaking in 4 cups of hot water and 1/2 cup of baking soda for 1-2 hours. Rinse really well. This will remove oils and product buildup. Not recommended for wooden brushes or natural bristles, just soak those in water and tea tree oil.

  • Clean and disinfect your makeup brushes with 2 cups of hot water, 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Place the brush, water and vinegar in a bowl then add baking soda. Rinse really well and allow to dry overnight.

  • Teeth Whitener! Mash a ripe strawberry with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and apply to your teeth and let sit for 5 minutes. Brush your teeth with your normal toothpaste and Smile Big! Use for 2 weeks and then once a week for maintenance.

  •  Whiten your nails with 1 tablespoon of peroxide and 2 1/4 tablespoons of baking soda. Mix together to form a paste and cover nails for 5 minutes.

Enjoy and get to cleaning and whitening!

Stimulating Your Scalp

The best method of scalp stimulation, for natural hair growth, is to brush your scalp and hair with a soft bristle brush at least 100 strokes per day. Use this technique on dry hair and try The Wet Brush!
